Abstract

The idea of a ‘mixed constitution' is a subject of study which, due to its considerable disciplinary and chronological scope, requires a specific approach. It was with this in mind that the interdisciplinary and trans-period seminar Mixed Constitutions was created in 2015. The result is an overview whose variety of sources and methods sheds light on the genealogy of the ‘mixed constitution', its developments and vicissitudes, from its Greco-Roman origins to the present day.
