Abstract

This paper aims to show the need to implement responsible practices to manage the employability of workers made vulnerable by an impairment of their health, through stakeholder engagement and their enrolment. Any career path may indeed be affected by a deterioration in occupational health that makes the person ‘vulnerable' and likely to weaken his or her employability. To shed some light on this societal issue, we have mobilized an exploratory qualitative approach centered on a comparative study of two cases, the first being a local authority, the Metropole Nice Côte d'Azur, and the second being represented by a company specialized in the cleaning sector, GSF Jupiter. Regarding theoretical contributions, the main originality of this research highlights responsible management practices in the specific issue of employability of workers made vulnerable by an impairment of their health. These practices are implemented thanks to the engagement and the enrolment of multiple stakeholders at the Metropole Nice Côte d'Azur and the GSF Jupiter company. Precisely, these stakeholders are enrolled in humanist, inclusive and responsible HR development policies.
