Abstract

This paper is about horizontal mismatch at labour market entry for vocational training graduates in Morocco. Three years after the graduation, horizontal mismatch appears moderate: it concerns one graduate on four, with a wide range according to the field of studies. It follows less often a path of direct and sustainable access to employment. This article describes a Moroccan labour market that adjusts through low job and wage quality, rather than through downgrading or skills mismatch. The majority of first-time moves are linked to a search for another, better-paid job.
