Abstract

This paper (WIP–Work in Progress) investigates students' attitudes toward Green IT adoption in university settings within the Armenian context using the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM); addressing the following research question: "What are students' attitudes toward Green IT adoption in university settings within the Armenian context?" A quantitative survey-based approach was employed, collecting responses from 207 first-year students across five faculties from an Armenian university. Our preliminary findings reveal limited awareness but notable interest in Green IT, with students demonstrating neutral yet receptive attitudes. While usability is not perceived as a barrier, uncertainty about Green IT's benefits highlights the need for awareness-building initiatives. This study contributes to the sustainable IT adoption discourse, offering insights for academia and policymakers integrating Green IT into university strategies in developing and geopolitically complex regions, like Armenia.
