Abstract

n the human and social sciences, academic research laboratories and professionals of urbanism still have few links. Adopting the participatory science approach, an initiative has been carried out in favor of this merger in Bordeaux. From this experience, the article discusses how the participants in this action research agree in formulating and responding to a problem, then retains the case study of a small coastal town on the Aquitaine coast and the theme of the French regulatory system of Local Urban Plan (PLU). The research team and the municipality of Porge in fact agree to re-examine the intervention frameworks of the PLU by the opportunity of an action-research project winner of the French POPSU-Territoires 2021 program. The objective of the article is to show the methodological progression of the partnership from the study of this forest area shared between littoralization and metropolitanization, the organization of such participatory research with elected officials, residents and stakeholders, then draw up a mid-term assessment of the added value but also of the limits of this approach.
