Abstract

La gestion des compétences est aujourd'hui présentée comme une orientation générale, aussi bien dans les organisations qu'à l'échelle de la société. Ce sujet complexe comporte plusieurs facettes. Les auteurs ont choisi de se concentrer sur un aspect transversal à tous les domaines, l'évaluation des compétences, considérée en relation avec les situations de gestion dans laquelle elle intervient. Dans une première partie, l'ouvrage souligne le caractère contingent des pratiques d'évaluation, leur diversité, celle de l'instrumentation qu'elles mobilisent, et finalement la disparité des résultats et des effets qu'elles génèrent, pour l'organisation comme pour l'individu. La seconde partie, fondée sur une analyse approfondie de vingt-six cas d'entreprises des secteurs privé et public, fournit une batterie de critères pour établir le diagnostic d'une démarche d'évaluation des compétences ou pour la construire.
