Abstract

The production of videos featuring sessions of divinatory card readings, such as tarot, is now widespread. This study is based on a series of interviews with fourteen professionals and viewers of these videos online. It highlights how the formatting of the videos and card games varies depending on sociotechnical contexts, aiming to maintain interpersonal trust fundamental to believe in this esoteric practice.
