Abstract

A few decades ago, interest began to grow in urban freight transportation. This was due to the association of modern logistics in the development of urban areas. This article uses numerous aspects to explain this process. Firstly, certain phenomena engendered by this convergence of developments are observed. Operating modes that are governed by a specific regulatory and technical environment are addressed. Finally, the key issues of urban logistics as well as the experimentation of new concepts (such as urban logistic spaces, information management and data exchange, etc.) are analyzed.
