Abstract

Today, the concept of sustainability in the public sector is essentially reduced to its financial dimension. However, this focus on the budgetary and financial aspects of sustainability denies the global nature of the concept. The objective of this paper is therefore to rework the concept of sustainability in the French context of public management using a bibliometric methodology. It allows us to confront the international literature with the French literature in order to reconstruct the relevant dimensions and associations of sustainability. Based on a study of key words in the international literature and through the filter of the definition of sustainability proposed by the ISO, the bibliometric analysis opens the way to a French reflection dedicated to sustainability.
