Abstract

This article reviews the analytical, conceptual and philosophical foundations upon which is based human conception and that Perroux promotes to define the Composite Exchange compared to the homo œconomicus of the Pur Exchange. A first part shows that Composite Exchange is: -i- a criticism of the rationalism of marginalists Pur Exchange and General Equilibrium Models, -ii- that this criticism is based on a serie of concepts which define the system that Perroux has always defended (domination effect, luttes-concours, conflicts-cooperations, human costs, gifts, transfer forced). A second part shows that these categories have their origin in a conception of man that borrows from spiritualist and personalist philosophies. This conception of man is part of Perroux's Christian ecumenism and in reference to the Social Doctrine of the Church. In a third part we show that this conception finds echo in the specific form of corporatism that Perroux defends.
