Abstract

Cet article cherche à déterminer si le discours introductif au rapport de responsabilité, dispensé par les PDG, constitue une source d'information pertinente dans la construction de portefeuilles d'actifs responsables et performants financièrement. Notre étude associe à l'analyse lexicale, effectuée par le logiciel Alceste, des données relatives à la performance financière et au niveau de responsabilité. Le niveau de RSE est estimé sur la base des données de l'agence de notation extra-financière MSCI ESG STATS. Ces caractéristiques additionnelles permettent au discours de prendre un autre sens en dévoilant en particulier le non-dit. Nous proposons une grille de lecture permettant aux investisseurs d'orienter leurs choix d'actifs au travers des champs lexicaux présents et absents. L'investisseur pourra alors limiter son asymétrie d'information et réaliser des choix d'investissement plus pertinents.
