Abstract

Nos sociétés développées sont confrontées depuis l'orée des années 1980 à un processus de « patrimonialisation » à la fois inédit, massif et particulièrement dommageable pour la croissance économique, l'égalité des chances et l'équilibre des rapports entre générations. Ce dernier se traduit par un poids croissant et inégal du patrimoine par rapport au revenu, mais aussi par une « crispation patrimoniale » des seniors, détenteurs d'une masse inerte de patrimoine peu risqué, un « retour » de l'héritage, reçu cependant de plus en plus tard (à près de 60 ans en moyenne), et des jeunes ménages fortement contraints dans leurs projets patrimoniaux (logement, entreprise, retraite).
