Abstract

La chasse à courre peut être vue comme une organisation fortement structurée par des rituels, dans laquelle les cavaliers/chasseurs déploient nombre de signes de l'exercice d'une domination sur leur environnement. Elle peut aussi être regardée comme une organisation qui se déroule dans un espace ouvert (souvent au sein de forêts domaniales, de domaines de l'État), alors même que celui-ci est ouvert au public, dans laquelle de multiples acteurs (riverains, promeneurs, suiveurs…) peuvent s'insérer et avec laquelle ils peuvent donc interagir, et tout à la fois la faciliter ou la gêner. La chasse à courre ne peut ignorer ces derniers, et ce d'autant plus qu'elle est une activité faisant l'objet de fortes controverses : son image (et donc sa pérennité), mais aussi, nous le verrons, son déroulement même, en dépendent.
