La famille mise à "mâle" ? Le cas des pratiquants de bodybuilding

Abstract

Le bodybuilding est un sport extrême, au sens où il repose sur l'idée de transformation permanente du corps, et où dans certains cas, il peut engager "tout" l'individu. De ce fait, il est susceptible d'influencer fortement la vie de famille, puisqu'il amène le/la bodybuilder à devoir concilier la gestion des différentes ressources familiales et les moyens à mettre en œuvre pour réaliser ses objectifs. Cet article vise alors à déterminer si l'engagement dans le bodybuilding influence l'engagement dans la famille, et si oui, à quel degré. Il est fondamental de considérer cette relation au regard du statut d'institution sociale de la famille, et de la question des prises de risque associées à une pratique sociale comme le bodybuilding.
