Abstract

Chaque jour, près de 100 000 avions décollent depuis l'un des 14 000 aéroports dans le monde, soit un chaque seconde. L'immense majorité de ces avions transportent des passagers, environ trois milliards par an. Sur le plan industriel, les livraisons d'appareils civils de ligne sont passées, hors jets d'affaires­, de quelques dizaines d'exemplaires par an dans les années 1950, à près de 300 en 1974, puis plus de 1 500 en 2015. À eux seuls, ces chiffres révèlent l'importance du secteur et laissent deviner la multitude de métiers qui sont derrière cette activité toujours en expansion.
