Abstract

La proposition d'introduire du tiers dans les essais de conceptualisation des rapports sociaux de sexe provient des apports de la recherche et de la réflexion sur les constats empiriques. Ainsi leur plasticité dynamique à l'oeuvre dans leur imbrication aux autres rapports sociaux, y compris ceux intra-sexe, explique leur historicité et plus généralement les mécanismes de la construction et de la compréhension sociale du genre. Le tiers est aussi occupé par les rapports politiques de sexe qui ne se ramènent pas seulement au caractère politique des rapports sociaux de sexe mais entament directement l'espace politico-juridique que révèle l'histoire des droits des femmes en France. Cet essai sur le tiers contribue à éclairer les limites et les déviations de l'utilisation de la notion anglo-saxonne de genre.
