Abstract

Ce papier évalue l'influence pouvant être exercée par les institutions formelles et informelles sur les stratégies de localisation des fusions-acquisitions dans les pays matures et émergents. Nous analysons l'impact de ces deux dimensions associées aux spécificités du pays de la cible via la qualité des institutions et les différences culturelles. Notre échantillon compte 395 fusions-acquisitions réalisées par des acquéreurs du SBF 120 entre 2010 et 2012. La qualité des institutions et les différences culturelles ont un impact significatif sur les stratégies de localisation des acquéreurs étudiés, mais celui de la qualité des institutions est prépondérant.
