Abstract

Cette recherche a pour objectif de comprendre comment les managers gèrent leurs rôles lors d'un plan de licenciement. Se fondant sur 70 entretiens (54 managers et 16 Professionnels en RH), cet article articule le modèle transactionnel du stress et le concept de necessary evils. Cette recherche fait ressortir 2 axes interprétatifs. Le premier oppose le niveau d'engagement du cadre à l'égard du plan de licenciement (implication et distanciation) alors que le second distingue la nature des intérêts défendus par le cadre (entreprise versus licenciés). Ces résultats contribuent à la littérature en suggérant que les managers ne sont pas nécessairement débordés émotionnellement par la situation et peuvent faire face à la question efficacement sans questionner leur équilibre psychique.
