Abstract

Alors que le lien entre la localisation des emplois et celle des ménages est historiquement au cœur de la théorie de la localisation, la proposition défendue ici repose sur une hypothèse de travail qui lève l'impératif de cette relation. On dispose d'indices permettant de supputer une telle évolution, déliant les lieux d'emplois des lieux de résidence, à partir de constats de changement des comportements des ménages et des entreprises en contexte de baisse des coûts de communication. En prolongeant de tels prémisses, on peut alors se demander si les processus d'agglomération que l'on connait selon un trend séculaire ne sont pas appelés à être infléchis au profit de nouvelles géographies économiques et sociales.
