Abstract

Cet article étudie la contribution à la littérature utopique de la dernière œuvre publiée par Lemercier de la Rivière en 1792 : L'Heureuse Nation ou Relations du gouvernement des Féliciens. Ce texte présente les derniers développements des apports économiques et politiques qu'il offre au public en prenant une distance formelle – utopique – dans une période où la Révolution devient de mois en mois de plus en plus violente. Cette étude est l'occasion de resituer le texte dans l'ensemble de l'œuvre du physiocrate et plus généralement dans l'histoire de la pensée économique et de le réinscrire dans l'histoire de la littérature utopique à la lumière des définitions proposées par Raymond Trousson, par Jean Servier ou encore par Alexandre Cioranescu.
