Abstract

Ce document est conçu comme une notice abrégée pour une première approche de l'œuvre du physiocrate Paul Pierre Lemercier de la Rivière : son parcours d'administrateur colonial et de publiciste, ses liens intellectuels avec les physiocrates et d'autres grandes figures de la seconde moitié du XVIIIe siècle. Cette courte notice est accompagnée d'une chronologie sommaire des principales étapes de sa vie personnelle, de ses missions officielles et de la parution de ses œuvres. Ce document propose encore les références des rééditions des textes de Lemercier de la Rivière accessibles en librairie et de la liste, plus exhaustive, des sources publiées permettant l'étude de son œuvre.
