Abstract

C'est comme si c'était fait ! Les journaux les plus sérieux (Les Echos) nous annoncent que le premier test du prototype Hyperloop dans le désert du Nevada est un succès. Le projet futuriste d'Elon Musk se concrétise. Un véhicule terrestre de transport collectif va bientôt se déplacer à plus de 1000 km/h entre San Francisco et Los Angeles. Comme pour donner du crédit à cette information, la SNCF, via sa filiale SYSTRA va devenir partenaire du projet. Déjà les journaux de Province emboîtent le pas. Le Progrès, journal de la région lyonnaise nous annonce que le temps de parcours entre Lyon et Saint-Etienne va être ramené à 8 minutes ! Que penser de ces promesses, sommes-nous vraiment à la veille d'un progrès technique majeur qui marquerait l'obsolescence à la fois du TGV et du transport aérien de courte et moyenne distance ? La réponse est négative pour de multiples raisons. Mais pour les comprendre, il faut éviter de se transformer en chambre d'écho de la communication d'E. Musk. De fait, quelques questions élémentaires sur les aspects oubliés du projet font que douter n'est pas seulement un droit, c'est un devoir.
