Abstract

L'article analyse la zone de chalandise comme un modèle proposé dans la littérature pour l'implantation d'un magasin dans un pays et discute l'usage qu'en fait le distributeur dans le cadre de son internationalisation. Il en montre le lien avec la segmentation par pays utilisée en marketing international à propos des stratégies d'internationalisation des distributeurs, et les limites du fait de la non prise en compte des flux de déplacements de clients qui visitent des magasins hors de leurs villes dans un pays qui leur est étranger. Il se sert des développements actuels des approches sur la proximité et l'e-commerce pour proposer une approche basée sur la zone de chalandise transfrontalière d'un point de vente. L'étude porte sur des entretiens avec des étudiants de Bratislava (Slovaquie) qui effectuent leurs achats dans les magasins de Vienne (Autriche) , de la communication et des rapports annuels de Spar et Zara.
