Abstract

Our empirical study of 40 SCOP in the Rhône-Alpes region shows that they can be analysed as hybrid organisations pursuing a double project : economical as well as socio-political. Our observations proved recruitment stakes to be crucial and highlighted the diversity of SCOP's practices. We question these practices regarding their ability to guarantee the durability of the double project. Among the ones identified as good practices, "selecting coupling", although relatively rare, seems more appropriate than "compromise" or "decoupling".
