Abstract

"Cette brève biographie de J.-B. Say permet de situer de façon précise la pensée d'un auteur qui aura vingt-trois ans en 1789. Son milieu d'origine est celui des protestants Genevois. L'action politique de La Décade se manifeste par des commentaires, des comptes rendus d'articles et des déclarations politiques. L'originalité de cette action réside en ce qu'elle cherche à investir le champ des idées dans toutes ses dimensions : celui des institutions, des élites et des lieux de recherche scientifique. En choisissant l'enseignement, J.-B. Say poursuit la tradition des idéologues. La Révolution apporte la preuve du pouvoir des hommes et de leurs idées sur le cours des événements. L'élaboration du Traité d'économie politique, du Cours complet, ne peut pas être comprise sans une reconstruction de ce que furent les différentes influences qui contribuèrent à façonner la pensée de Jean-Baptiste Say." http://www.cairn.info/revue-innovations-2014-3-page-171.htm
