Abstract

Le rapide accroissement démographique des villes d'Afrique subsaharienne s'accompagne du développement des périphéries d'habitat " spontané ", dépourvues d'infrastructures et services de base, fréquemment localisées dans des zones écologiquement fragiles. Les pratiques de mobilité des citadins pauvres d'Afrique subsaharienne, majoritairement fondées sur la marche à pied et les espaces de proximité, jouent un rôle limitant pour l'accès aux ressources susceptibles de réduire la pauvreté et la vulnérabilité des populations : emploi, éducation, santé, réseaux sociaux... L'objectif de cette communication est de montrer que les changements climatiques et la dégradation des conditions environnementales ne pourront qu'exacerber ce contexte si des mesures en faveur des infrastructures et des services de base, dont le transport, ne sont pas rapidement adoptées.
