Abstract

"Les premiers économistes, soit mercantilistes, soit classiques, qui se sont intéressés aux facteurs du développement économique ont le plus souvent privilégié des facteurs sociaux, institutionnels, politiques, environnementaux et moraux plutôt que des facteurs purement économiques. Ainsi quand le facteur travail est pris en compte, il est davantage question d'analyser l'attitude à l'égard du travail et les conditions qui le favorisent que l'aspect quantitatif. De même, un environnement géographique difficile ou une forte pression démographique peut jouer un rôle essentiel dans le développement des nations. Sur l'ensemble de ces questions, ces auteurs ont anticipé les débats contemporains traités par les pionniers de l'économie du développement."
