Abstract

Le glissement des sciences humaines vers les modélisations mathématiques est une observation récurrente, quelquefois dénoncé comme excessif, il est plutôt encouragé dans la pratique professionnelle de la recherche. Cette relation entre les mathématiques et la démarche scientifique faisait déjà l'objet d'un débat entre les philosophes interprétant les textes de Platon et d'Aristote, pour d'autres disciplines que la gestion, et les arguments utilisés dans les œuvres parvenues, souvent miraculeusement jusqu'à nous, sont pour certains d'une surprenante actualité. Nous avons souhaité partir de ce débat de l'antiquité avec notre expérience de la recherche au sein de l'ISEOR, tout en essayant d'apporter une contribution au positionnement des techniques mathématiques dans les recherches en sciences de gestion.
