Abstract

Le thème du développement durable génère une abondante littérature qui couvre divers domaines des sciences sociales : économie, sociologie, histoire, géographie et management. On trouve aussi dans la littérature des thèmes connexes à celui de développement durable tels que " agriculture durable ", " consommation durable ", " villes durables ", " tourisme durable ". Faut-il voir dans la multiplication des discours sur le thème du développement durable un simple effet de mode ou au contraire un phénomène porteur de sens ? Le développement durable peut être appréhendé à différents niveaux : à un niveau mondial, à un niveau national ou à un niveau micro-économique : celui de l'entreprise. La prise en compte du long terme par l'entreprise par une nécessité nouvelle. La durabilité ou pérennité de l'entreprise est inhérente au management. Mais si le développement durable de l'entreprise est une exigence, il ne va pas de soi. Le concept de responsabilité sociale de l'entreprise (RSE) est étroitement liée au celui de développement durable (DD). Ces deux concepts occupent une place croissante dans les maquettes des établissements d'enseignement supérieur. Le concept de RSE a un caractère transversal.
