Abstract

Peu de mots comme ceux de " développement durable " auront suscité autant d'enthousiasme et de scepticisme mêlés. Mais sans doute sommes-nous, dans cette histoire marquée par l'ambiguïté, à un tournant. Les évolutions, ou événements récents, n'incitent pas, a priori, à l'optimisme. La conjonction d'une crise qui se prolonge, d'une immense déception après Copenhague... et d'un hiver particulièrement rigoureux dans l'hémisphère Nord, ont fait pencher la balance du côté des sceptiques. Il s'agit moins, dans ces conditions, d'aller vers un " au-delà ou un en-deçà du développement durable " mais plutôt d'en dessiner une nouvelle étape - adaptée à la période d'après-crise dans laquelle nous sommes entrés. Ce sont les contours de cette seconde étape que ce livre veut esquisser.
