Abstract

Ce chapitre s'inscrit dans ce contexte d'utilisation intensive des DPI caractéristique de l'économie de la connaissance et s'intéresse en particulier à la mise en place d'une stratégie de valorisation sous forme de licences de brevets (" licensing "). Ce choix de valorisation n'a rien de novateur, mais les entreprises semblent y recourir de plus en plus massivement. De fait cette stratégie s'accompagne de nouveaux enjeux, notamment quant aux choix organisationnels les plus à même de la soutenir. Après avoir présenté dans une première partie la nature et les caractéristiques d'une stratégie de revenus basée sur la licence, nous nous intéresserons donc dans un second temps à l'organisation de l'activité de " licensing ". Nous nous appuierons pour cela sur le cas de Technicolor qui, depuis de nombreuses années, mène une politique de valorisation de ses brevets fondée sur l'octroi de licences supportée par des choix organisationnels innovants.
