La Chine : avenir du découplage asiatique ?

Abstract

L'Asie Orientale est aujourd'hui engagée dans un processus d'intégration économique régionale. Elle regroupe désormais les dix pays de l'ASEAN (Association des Nations d'Asie du Sud Est), auxquels viennent s'ajouter la Chine, le Japon et la Corée du Sud (ASEAN + 3). La thèse défendue ici repose sur les limites actuelles de ce processus qui ne permet pas (encore) à l'Asie d'être protégée des aléas des conjonctures occidentales. Après avoir analysé l'impact de la crise qui démarre en août 2007 aux Etats-Unis pour se diffuser à partir de septembre 2008, sur les pays d'Asie Orientale (I), ce chapitre montrera que la "triangularisation" des échanges semble difficilement contournable à court ou moyen terme du fait en particulier de l'hétérogénéité des niveaux de développement des pays asiatiques (II). Le découplage réel s'avère donc difficile à envisager à court terme. Par ailleurs, les variétés de développement expliquent également les disparités entre les systèmes financiers nationaux (III) ce qui rend plus difficile l'analyse de l'éventualité d'un découplage financier et ce qui explique que la plupart des pays asiatiques aient été touchés par la crise plus tardivement (par le réel et non directement par le financier, contrairement au Japon).
