Abstract

Les firmes multinationales sont plus particulièrement concernées par les mutations de l'économie mondiale, dont elles constituent d'ailleurs des acteurs majeurs. Les stratégies qu'elles poursuivent et les décisions qu'elles prennent contribuent à façonner le processus de mondialisation. Durant ces dernières années, de nombreuses firmes multinationales ont cherché à diversifier leur expansion internationale, en renforçant leur présence dans d'autres zones géographiques, notamment dans les marchés émergents. Parallèlement, on peut observer un éclatement de la chaîne de valeur, qui se traduit par une plus grande dispersion géographique des activités de production et de commercialisation, mais aussi de recherche et développement (R&D). Ce chapitre porte sur les caractéristiques des firmes multinationales dans un contexte de mondialisation économique. L'auteur s'intéresse à l'évolution des modes de management et des configurations organisationnelles des firmes multinationales.
