Abstract

La santé s'inscrit de plus en plus dans une logique marchande mais la complémentarité entre progrès économique et progrès social doit l'emporter, avec en ligne de mire le développement humain, le droit à la santé comme droit de l'Homme et la nécessaire cohérence des politiques sanitaires et sociales. Après un examen des réponses au défi de la soutenabilité financière, ce chapitre cible le rôle majeur de la santé dans le développement humain et se termine par la mise en perspective de quelques pistes visant à rendre le système de santé plus efficace et plus juste.
