Abstract

Le droit d'auteur est l'objet de débats passionnés ; le sujet est passé du cercle fermé des spécialistes à un véritable enjeu de société. La contestation numérique constitue la manifestation la plus visible des multiples remises en question dont il a pu être la cible. À partir d'un retour sur les fondements de ce droit, ce livre de deux économistes montre la tension permanente entre la recherche de la diffusion la plus large des œuvres de l'esprit et la volonté de protéger, respecter et rémunérer la création. Il propose tout à la fois un état des lieux de la pensée économique sur le droit d'auteur et une synthèse originale des principaux débats sur la légitimité, le champ d'application et les enjeux stratégiques de ce droit.
