Abstract

L'internationalisation de la R&D des firmes est considérée aujourd'hui comme une stratégie destinée à accroître les connaissances des grandes firmes dans un espace cognitif mondial fortement polarisé. Deux questions principales se présentent qui constituent les deux objets complémentaires de notre communication : que cherchent les FMN lorsqu'elles implantent ou prennent le contrôle de laboratoires à l'étranger ? Comment s'y prennent-elles afin de réaliser cette opération d'internationalisation des ressources ? En répondant à ces deux questions, nous montrons que ce qui est intransférable, ce sont les réseaux sociaux de production jointe et de partage de connaissances tacites. Ce sont ces réseaux que les firmes cherchent à pénétrer dans une logique contributive. Mais cette stratégie aboutit à créer une grande diversité de ressources et de dispositifs de management. Il convient alors pour les FMN de développer une capacité de management de la diversité cognitive dont nous fournissons une partie des facteurs de réussite.
