Abstract

Depuis une trentaine d'années, les systèmes européens de protection sociale, à l'origine développés autour de deux modèles fondateurs, celui de Bismarck et celui de Beveridge, ont été confrontés à des problèmes financiers, d'efficacité et de légitimité. Cet ouvrage vise à présenter l'historique et la diversité des systèmes de protection sociale en Europe. Il analyse les grands défis à relever et leurs principales réponses, et met en perspective quelques propositions de réformes visant à redynamiser la protection sociale dans une logique d'investissement social et d'égalité des chances sur le cycle de vie.
