Abstract

L'auteur s'interroge sur la compatibilité entre une société guidée par un certain nombre de mythes et la poursuite d'objectifs en accord avec les enjeux du développement durable. Après une réflexion sur la notion de développement durable, ses objectifs, ses présupposés, l'auteur met à nu les mythes qui constituent le soubassement idéologique du système économique dominant. Ces mythes forgent une représentation de la société, de son fonctionnement et de ses possibilités d'évolution, en contradiction avec la poursuite des objectifs visés par un développement durable. L'on s'interroge alors sur les valeurs et principes compatibles avec un développement durable, pour enfin en analyser la teneur lorsqu'intégrées à des initiatives locales. Que peut-on espérer en particulier de ces initiatives locales ?
