Abstract

Parmi les grandes organisations publiques, l'Armée de Terre constitue une de celles qui a connu un nombre élevé de transformations dans un laps de temps réduit. En effet, évolution des adversaires désignés, refonte de la structure organisationnelle, réduction du format, les changements sont si profonds que le concept de « Revolution In Military Affairs » a été mis en avant. Parmi les aspects qui visent à mener à la supériorité d'une force face à une autre, la maîtrise de l'information apparaît déterminante. Dans ce cadre, plusieurs pays mettent en œuvre des systèmes de commandement numérisés. L'Armée de Terre française, avec sa chaîne SIC-F – SIR – SIR, constitue un exemple particulièrement pertinent. Aussi, l'objectif de cet article est de faire un point de situation sur le concept de numérisation de l'espace de bataille en insistant notamment sur les théories fondant la mise en œuvre de tels systèmes.
