El acuerdo de asociación Unión Europea – Centroamérica: una nueva etapa en las relaciones económicas birregionales

Abstract

La suscripción del Acuerdo de Diálogo Político y de Cooperación entre la Unión Europea y Centroamérica en 2003 abrió la posibilidad de fortalecer las relaciones birregionales, que habían venido perdiendo dinamismo desde la conclusión del conflicto centroamericano. La vía elegida ha sido la firma de un Acuerdo de Asociación Económica interregional, que profundiza el contenido del actual Acuerdo y lo amplía con la inclusión de un tratado de libre comercio. El objetivo de la ponencia es valorar el futuro de las relaciones económicas birregionales en este nuevo contexto.
