Gestion Du Résultat Et Seuils : Les Montants Manipulés Sont-Ils Marginaux ?

Abstract

Les études sur les seuils réalisées jusqu'à aujourd'hui se fondent sur des démarches non paramétriques de mesure des effectifs irréguliers autour du seuil du résultat nul. Plus précisément, l'irrégularité est mesurée par différence entre un effectif observé dans un intervalle et un effectif théorique estimé localement par interpolation des intervalles adjacents. La seule hypothèse est que l'allure de la distribution est supposée lisse en absence de manipulation. L'originalité de la recherche présentée dans ce papier est de tenter de déterminer une loi mathématique de distribution des résultats afin de mesurer les effectifs attendus (et donc les irrégularités) de manière « paramétrique ». Une telle approche permet de mieux mesurer les irrégularités autours des seuils, de mieux comparer les seuils comptables dans le temps et dans l'espace, et d'évaluer les montants manipulés. Le principal résultat empirique de cette étude est de remettre en cause le postulat de manipulation « marginale » dans le cadre de la gestion du résultat pour atteindre des seuils.
