Abstract

This research focuses on the relationships between a country image and the image of one of its major city. To do so, a literature review has been conducted. It shows that there are very few researches studying the relationships between country, region and city images. A quantitative survey has been conducted in China, Canada, Ireland and Switzerland. Results indicate that the image of France is a bit better than this of Lyon, even though both images are closely linked. Analyses also show that the image of a destination differs according to the fact that respondents have or not already visited it. The nationality of the respondents also influences their perception of a destination.
