Abstract

Recent theories on regional development emphasize the contribution of endogenous variables. Capacity of generation and transmission of innovations are, in this context, privileged. In this paper variable one of this theoretical perspectives, the milieux innovateurs, is analysed giving special attention to the territorial dynamics of innovation and its role the territorial development process. The objective of this paper is to carry out a critical analysis of this contribution. The concepts of endogenous innovation, the reseaux d'innovation and the milieux innovaters are crucial. Organization plays an important role in the innovation process. And, given the links existing between organization and agglomeration, we can evidence the importance of the territory and of the local variables in the innovation.
