Abstract

The institutionalization of carpooling in France. - Ridesharing is a way to limit the environmental impact of a trip. Only few researches analysed the practices of carpooling. Nevertheless, many stakeholders attempt to develop carpooling in France. Websites, associations, companies, etc.: these stakeholders are diversified both by their nature and functioning. They share a kind of carpooling market with only few resources. We propose in this contribution a sociological view on the carpooling stakeholders and their interplays. Thereby, we will show there is a high competition between stakeholders which bring about some negative and unexpected effects on the carpooling development.
