Abstract

Si les premières mentions chez Clément Juglar des « crises commerciales et de leurs retours périodiques » datent des années 1856-1857, ses touts premiers textes économiques sont légèrement antérieurs. Lors des années 1852-1854 il publie une série de travaux sur la population, sur les équilibres entre industrie et agricultures, et sur l'Algérie et les colonies. Sur ce dernier sujet il fait paraître en 1853 dans le Journal des économistes une série de quatre longs articles . La centaine de pages qu'il consacre à cette question mérite attention pour deux raisons....
