Abstract

Cet article propose plusieurs éléments d'analyse permettant d'appréhender la capacité de régulation économique des pratiques de responsabilité sociale des entreprises (RSE). Nous soulignons, en premier lieu, qu'en tant qu'institution en cours d'émergence et de diffusion, la RSE a un certain pouvoir de stabilisation des activités économiques. Toutefois, cette thèse, 1) cadre mal avec la nouvelle dynamique d'organisation industrielle des rapports entre entreprises, fondée sur la modularité, qui repose sur le rétrécissement de la « surface » de l'entreprise et l'établissement de nouvelles « règles du jeu », 2) ne signifie pas que la RSE puisse être un substitut immédiat du rapport salarial fordien en crise, et enfin 3) la RSE requiert encore une dose de régulation publique et sans doute, également, d'ordre supranational. Ces conclusions restent évidemment provisoires et ne sont qu'une introduction à une recherche plus approfondie.
