Les choix d'orientation à l'épreuve de l'emploi

Abstract

Six ans après la fin de leur formation initiale, comment les jeunes ayant connu des difficultés d'insertion dans l'emploi se représentent-ils a posteriori la pertinence et l'utilité de leurs choix d'orientation professionnelle ? Aujourd'hui adultes en activités ou à la recherche d'un emploi, comment évaluent-ils ces choix ? Sont-ils satisfaits de l'emploi qui en a découlé et des éventuelles inflexions professionnelles ultérieures ? Quel sens donnent-ils à leurs acquis professionnels ? Pour éclairer ses questions, le Céreq a mené une enquête spécifique dans le cadre d'une étude plus vaste sur les processus d'orientation et les parcours scolaires et professionnels, réalisée pour le compte de la Direction générale de l'enseignement scolaire (DGESCO). La présente publication restitue les résultats de cette enquête par entretiens approfondis auprès de soixante-huit jeunes de tous niveaux de formation, sortis du système scolaire en 2001 et ayant ensuite connu des difficultés d'insertion professionnelle.
