Abstract

In spite of the multitude of work in project management on the role and the place of the project leader in the company, as on competencies which must hold the "ideal" project leader, few work were undertaken to understand the overall dynamic of the profession of project manager. This article proposes to give life to a profession considered now as a profession with whole share and particular, while operating simultaneously and in a coherent way several levers of management. To define and illustrate the principal levers of a approach of organization and piloting of the dynamic of the profession of project manager, we are based on a case study carried out at IBM. We will then propose to analyze the dynamic of the profession of project manager starting from three dimensions: cognitive, relational and identity.
