Abstract

Première ville portuaire en France, ouverte sur le monde, Le Havre et ses habitants ont été particulièrement concernés par les grandes mutations d'un XXe siècle durant lequel succès et catastrophes se sont enchaînés. Gloire du négoce, faste des paquebots, ère industrielle, écrasement puis renaissance de la cité : les images fortes et les textes pertinents de ce livre mettent en scène cent ans de vie havraise et expliquent comment cette grande ville aborde la mondialisation
