Abstract

Though wars are major economic phenomenons, economists doesn't study them very much. This paper tries to explain wars as a mechanism of the dynamics of capitalism through hegemonic and Kondratieff cycles. Wars are organic components of the dynamics of capital accumulation (ressources' availability, technologies, capacity of financing). They are also key moments of the capitalist dynamics through the (re)definition of the rules of the game of the world economy.
